Hi, I'm Grace.

Wife. Mom. Daughter. Sister. Friend. Counselor. PPD/A Survivor. Advocate. Vegetarian. Runner. Writer. Poet. Expatriate. Dreamer. Thinker. Learner. Spanish speaker. World Citizen. Christian. (But not the judgy/boxy/annoying/predictable type. So please don't run away.)

Mr. P & I got married in 2003 and moved to Mexico in 2006 - to escape the Oregon gloom, learn Spanish, and live an adventure. (We're still here!)

We waited almost 5 years to have a baby, Solomon, who joined our lives in 2008, born in Mexico via c-section. The transition from carefree married life to parenthood was rocky for us. Things didn't go quite as we envisioned they would.

This is my journal of motherhood in the wake of a postpartum mood disorder, from which I am still recovering healed. It's about picking up the pieces, striving for wholeness, being authentic and healing our life. Here is where I wrote about my fears about having another child, the complexity of raising our family in a foreign context, and our joys and struggles in marriage, parenting & daily life.

After many months of prayer, worry, soul searching and heart-to-hearts, we decided to expand our family. In October of 2011, Rainer Marco made our family complete.

I told Mr. P that Solo made me a mama, and Rainer healed me.

Things won't always be serious around here, or sad. But sometimes they will, and that is ok.

I hope my stories can inspire you to live life with your arms wide open, being stretched along the way.

Thanks for reading!
