<sigh>
Yesterday I was feeling sorry for myself ... I was exhausted and dealing with my boys fighting and screaming. Solo is home with an ear infection, and I just wanted two! seconds! to myself, without being tugged, whined at or climbed on.
Then I popped on instagram to distract myself and saw a post about the tornado in Oklahoma. Hello, reality check.
Now it's Tuesday morning, Solo is still home, the boys haven't started fighting (yet), and I still need to turn on the news to see what is happening beyond what I saw in a 2x2 photo online.
But, first, because we all could use a smile, Convos with Solo:
~~~~~~
Solo: "I'm gonna make a circus on your arm!"
::proceeds to pull individual arm hairs up until a small cone of skin formed::
"Circus! Yeah! Baby Circus! Circusssss!"
Me: "Is this really happening?"
~~~~~~~
::Reading a book together about a farm::
Solo: "Who milks the cow?"
Me: "Sometimes the farmer does, but I think usually machines do."
Solo: "Oh! Just like your machine, mommy!"
Me: "Breast pump for the win."
~~~~~~~~
::Helping Solo blow his nose::
Solo: "Are we done yet?"
Me: "Yep! I think we finally got it all cleaned out!"
Solo: "Oh, good! Because all that blowing almost made me fart!"
~~~~~~~~~
::Car honking outside::
Solo: "Sheesh! That sounds like an elephant! Do you think that's an elephant mommy?"
Me: "No, I don't think there could be an elephant in front of our house, do you?"
Solo: "Yeah it could be."
Me: "I guess you're right, it is Mexico."
~~~~~~~~~~
::Solo admiring himself in the mirror::
Solo: "Wow! I look really cool with these pants and this shirt that I picked!"
Me: "Yes, yes you do. Let's take a picture of this!"
souvenir shirt from Venice + Christmas pj pants + Batman socks = a peek inside the head of a four year old.
